I have combined the two blog posting in one. I read all of act one and posted the whole complete opinion of the scenario.
Any questions that anyone wants to ask me?
Level Questions:
1. Is witch-craft some what tied in with politics?
2. Is indeed witch-craft the real problem in the story?
A blog for the reading of The Crucible.
Over break our AP English Lit class, we are to read an independent reading novel, which in my case is The Crucible. The novel dates back to the time of the Salem witch trials, which means to understand the book in a clear way, one must have s clear sense of knowledge to understand the play.

The Crucible Reading pg. 3-47 Act One
The whole Act One is a big fuss about how many people think that Betty is being taken over by the devil. Abigail, if I spelled her name correctly, was caught with Betty dancing to Tituba's music. Many think that Betty is perhaps a witch since in the time Salem was witch-infested. Not only is that a problem, but once Proctor was brought into the picture, Abigail kept pushing that the affair between her and Proctor should continue.
"John-I am waitin' for you every night." "Abby, I never give you hope to wait for me."
pg. 21 act one
Abby in this case keeps trying to push Proctor to have an affair with her again. In this case she keeps pushing it because she thinks she is a grown woman and says things in order to get her way. She always speaks about her name in good vain. Abby is the type of that seems well known, if you guys catch my drift.
Level Question:
Why is Abby so pushy about continuing the affair with Proctor?
